Clinical Site Director

Melissa graduated from Florida State University with an MA degree in Art Therapy. Right out of graduate school, she began her career as a primary therapist in a locked, secured juvenile treatment facility, working with youth with significant behavioral and mental health disorders, such as oppositional defiant disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. After 3 years as a primary therapist, she moved into a leadership position, managing a team of therapists and life skills clinicians for the next 6 years. Additionally, she has previous experience working in a private practice setting and working with youth as young as five years old through adults. As a graduate intern she also gained experience working with young adults through transitional periods of life.

Melissa joined the Inspire team searching for ways to develop additional professional and leadership skills while developing more personal connections in the community. Her professional areas of interest include teaching newer clinicians, including interns, and helping newer clinicians develop confidence in their clinical skills to provide the best treatment possible for the clients we work with. Melissa believes in fostering the therapeutic relationship from the ground up establishing a warm, inviting, comfortable, safe and non-judgmental atmosphere from the first interaction with staff in the office. She brings creative thinking, positivity and a team approach in all that she does.

 Kim Workman

Office Manager

Helping people from all walks of life is what I believe my purpose is in the world. Social Work provides me the opportunity to support hurting communities and to aid in mental health. As a counselor, I have the privilege to help individuals heal, grow, and learn. It is my mission to be a part of radical change with radical people. Inspire Counseling & Support Center gives me the opportunity to witness it firsthand.

Ashaunte Portis

Administrative Assistant

Through personal experience, Inspire Counseling has allowed me to give back to the community in the way that it has poured into me. I firsthand understand the importance of therapy and so it is my privilege to assist others in the process of starting their own life-changing journey. I am passionately eager to help clients begin counseling because without the surrounding support system in my own life, I would not have become the success story that I now am in this present time. My past no longer defines me, and I am looking forward to all that the future has in store to further my accomplishments.

Tank McFall

Therapy Dog – In Training

Tank is a 2-year-old English Springer Spaniel who is in training to become a therapy dog with his handler, Melissa McFall, LMHC, ATR-BC. Tank has previously attended training at Camp Bow-Wow, passing his first two training courses on his way to his certification as a Canine Good Citizen. He currently attends weekly training at Sit Means Sit as he continues to hone his skills in preparation of therapy dog certification.

Just like many people, Tank struggles at times. Tank was rehomed with Melissa after his original owners, who got him from a breeder, were unable to keep him due to their older dogs not liking Tank. Tank will sometimes bark when he gets startled, and it can take him a moment to warm up to others.  Once he gets to know you, he might still give a bark or two to let others know you have arrived in the office but will quickly start to greet you in hopes for some attention.

He enjoys spending his days at the office where he gets to meet and be loved on by many different people. He enjoys the multiple treats throughout the day as well. When away from the office, Tank loves spending time with his mama/handler, Melissa, and the rest of his at-home family. Tank also loves to run, jump, and play fetch, especially with his favorite ball.
